Lake Powell overflows with paradox. Whatever your view of its merits or lack thereof, Lake Powell, photographically, is frequently underestimated and largely unappreciated. Lake Powell is the central feature and the reason for the creation of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. And yet, most of the park—87 percent—lies beyond the reach of the lake.
